BOOK MOTHER MENTORSHIP
After years of mentoring writers through word-of-mouth referrals, I’m thrilled to open my mentoring program to all writers ready to dig deep and elevate their work. The BOOK MOTHER MENTORSHIP is an exclusive, intensive program designed specifically for authors who have completed a first draft and are committed to taking their manuscript to a submission-ready level—whether that means querying agents or publishers.
This isn’t a casual workshop or a quick fix. The mentorship requires a minimum three-month commitment, but is most transformative over a full year. Throughout our time together, I’ll be your creative guide and steadfast supporter—nourishing your talent, offering honest guidance, and holding you accountable. I’ll help you recognize when you’re not at your best and encourage you back to your highest potential as a writer.
How the Program Works:
Step 1: Manuscript Evaluation
We begin with a thorough, in-depth review of your manuscript. I’ll provide detailed feedback on what’s working and where we need to focus our efforts for improvement. During this first month, we’ll meet weekly to discuss your manuscript and create a tailored plan for the months ahead. Think of this as an extended first date: a chance for us to get to know each other and set the stage for a productive partnership.
Step 2: Tailored Development
After the initial evaluation, we’ll divide our time among the following key areas:
Flexible, Supportive Structure
Our weekly meetings are scheduled to fit both our calendars, but a typical month might look like this:
If you’re ready to commit to your craft and bring your book to its full potential, the BOOK MOTHER MENTORSHIP is here to guide you every step of the way.

Step 2: Tailored Development
After the initial evaluation, we’ll divide our time among the following key areas:
- Crafting a standout query letter
- Identifying your ideal audience
- Developing a personalized PR and marketing plan
- Demystifying the publishing process
- Attending networking events
- Revising and editing your manuscript (as many rounds as needed!)
- Book formatting essentials
- Building your author platform (website, social media, etc.)
- Strategizing where to submit your manuscript when it’s ready
- Setting up your publishing infrastructure (imprint, ISBN, cover design, publication logistics)
Flexible, Supportive Structure
Our weekly meetings are scheduled to fit both our calendars, but a typical month might look like this:
- Two 60-minute phone or Zoom sessions each week to discuss writing progress, marketing, and platform-building
- Around ten hours per month dedicated to manuscript reading, developmental and line editing, PR strategy, platform development, and email support
- On-call texting for quick questions and encouragement (within reason)
If you’re ready to commit to your craft and bring your book to its full potential, the BOOK MOTHER MENTORSHIP is here to guide you every step of the way.
Rates
The investment for the mentorship program is $750 for the first month, followed by $1,000 per month for each additional month. Payments are due at the start of each month and can be set up for automatic billing or manual invoicing, whichever you prefer. If you need more flexibility, we can arrange for the monthly fee to be divided into weekly payments.
What Types of Projects Do I Like
I am a lover of all genres, but prefer shaping nonfiction (memoir/essays), poetry, short story collections, experimental genres, and literary fiction. I am not super into boilerplate genre fiction, but if you had a literary novel that had elements of speculative or scifi, I would consider taking it under my wings.
How to Apply
Writers apply by sending in up to 15 pages of poetry, or 25 pages of prose (nonfiction or fiction). Additionally, a one-page cover letter detailing the scope of the manuscript along with the author's publishing goals is required.
