BOOK MOTHER MENTORSHIP

The BOOK MOTHER MENTORSHIP is an intimate, guided editorial partnership for writers who have a draft (messy is welcome) and are ready to transform it into a clear, compelling, emotionally honest manuscript that resonates deeply.

This isn’t a casual workshop or a quick fix. This is for authors who are committed to taking their manuscript to a submission-ready level—whether that means querying agents or publishers.

The mentorship requires a minimum three-month commitment, but is most transformative over a full year. Throughout our time together, I’ll be your creative guide and steadfast supporter—nourishing your talent, offering honest guidance, and holding you accountable. I’ll help you recognize when you’re not at your best and encourage you back to your highest potential as a writer. Best of all, I'll be the most honest and transparent publishing BFF you've ever had.

How the Program Works
Step 1: Manuscript Evaluation
We begin with a thorough review of your manuscript. You’ll receive detailed feedback on what’s working and where deeper attention is needed. During this first month, we meet weekly to discuss your manuscript, your goals, and to design a roadmap for the next stage.

Think of this as an extended first date: a chance to align expectations and build the foundation for a productive, creative partnership.

Step 2: Tailored Development
Once your manuscript has been evaluated, we move into focused, customized development. Depending on your project, our work may include:

Editorial & Craft

  • Developmental and line editing (multiple rounds as needed)

  • Structural revision guidance

  • Chapter or section mapping and pacing refinement

Publishing Strategy

  • Query letter development and submission strategy

  • Identifying your ideal readership and literary positioning

  • Understanding and choosing between traditional, hybrid, or independent publishing routes

Marketing & Platform

  • Personalized PR and marketing planning

  • Social media strategy and author-platform building

  • Attending or pitching literary events and readings

For self-publishing authors:

  • Setting up your publishing infrastructure (imprint creation, ISBNs, interior & cover design guidance, distribution logistics)

Every author’s path is different—your program is built around your book’s specific needs.

Flexible, Supportive Structure
A typical month includes:

  • Two × 60-minute Zoom or phone sessions each week focused on craft, marketing, and author development

  • Roughly ten hours of behind-the-scenes work monthly: reading, editing, PR planning, and platform strategy

  • Email and text access for questions, accountability, and encouragement

This program meets you where you are but won’t let you stay there. It’s designed to turn an evolving draft into a finished, positioned, publishable book. Contact me for more information.
