MANUSCRIPT ANALYSIS

$100.00

A comprehensive editorial read for writers who want honest, constructive feedback before taking the next step. A manuscript analysis is for writers who need more than encouragement but are not necessarily ready for a full developmental edit. I read your manuscript in full and provide detailed, thoughtful feedback on what is working, what needs attention, and how the project can become stronger.

I look closely at structure, pacing, voice, character development, clarity, emotional impact, genre expectations, and the overall shape of the work. My goal is not to flatten your style or push your manuscript into something safer. My goal is to help you see the project more clearly so you can revise with direction, confidence, and purpose.

I work with fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poetry, hybrid projects, and experimental manuscripts. Whether you are polishing a novel, shaping a memoir, refining a poetry collection, or trying to understand what your manuscript wants to become, I will give you honest, actionable guidance while respecting your voice and vision.

This service includes a full manuscript read, a detailed editorial feedback letter, and a 30-minute follow-up call to discuss the project after I have completed the review.

How It Works

After you reserve your spot, I will reach out with instructions for sending your manuscript and any background information you would like me to know before I begin. This may include where you are in the writing process, what concerns you have about the manuscript, what kind of publishing path you are considering, and any specific questions you want me to keep in mind while reading.

I will then read the manuscript in full and prepare a detailed editorial feedback letter. This letter will address the major elements of the work, including structure, pacing, voice, character development, narrative momentum, clarity, emotional resonance, and overall impact. For nonfiction and memoir, I may also look at argument, framing, scene balance, vulnerability, and how the material is shaped for the reader. For poetry and hybrid projects, I may look at sequencing, cohesion, image systems, line-level patterns, formal choices, and the larger movement of the collection.

This is not a line edit or copyedit. I will not mark every sentence, correct every typo, or rewrite your pages. Instead, I will give you a high-level editorial assessment that helps you understand the manuscript as a whole and identify the most important revision opportunities.

Once you have received the feedback letter, we will schedule a 30-minute follow-up call. During that call, we can talk through your questions, discuss the manuscript in more depth, clarify revision priorities, or focus on whatever will help you move forward.

What You Get

You receive a full reading of your manuscript, a detailed editorial feedback letter, and a 30-minute phone call after the review is complete. Your feedback letter will identify the manuscript’s strengths, the areas that need more attention, and the revision priorities that will likely make the biggest difference. I will be honest, but I will not be cruel. The goal is useful feedback, not vague praise or soul-crushing criticism. You will leave with a clearer understanding of what your manuscript is doing, where it may be losing momentum, what readers may need more of, and how to approach the next stage of revision.

Important Note

The $100 payment is a deposit to reserve your spot. It goes toward the total cost of the manuscript analysis. The full service is $450, and I will invoice you for the remaining balance. This service does not include a full developmental edit, line edit, copyedit, proofreading, formatting, publishing submission, or ongoing coaching. It is a comprehensive manuscript assessment designed to help you understand the work more clearly and revise with a stronger sense of direction.
